IMO :Traders Riot in Owerri over alleged partiality in demolition of illegal structures along Douglas road Owerri

Amausa corner by Douglas road in Owerri was turned into turmoil as traders took laws into their hand over what they termed partiality in demolition of illegal structures along Douglas road.

The riot was cause by the demolition of some shops own by igbo traders
They got angry because Rochas didn’t demolish Ama Huasa, and yet he came to demolish that of his own brothers

It took the intervention of security operatives to instill calm in the area.

The demolition has come under heavy criticism by imolites who see it as a being uncalled for saying traders who’s properties were destroyed has been plunged into deep economic hardship.

But the Government maintain it’s all towards creating a more beautiful environment for all.

    This is serious. For development to take place they have to demolish illegal structures but government should at least compensate them.
