Imo State.

This was contained in a recent court decision

Students of Imo state university Owerri who left the campus for the short Easter vacation are en-route back to the school sequel to 2016/2017 second semester resumption, It has been reported that bandits suspected to be student cultist connected to IMSU attacked a 100L student of Imo State University, Owerri, identified simply as Miss Nkechi Onwumelu on her way back to the campus from home where she went for Easter vacation.

Lectures halted in Imo State University as students refuse to resume 2016/2017 second semester

WRITTEN BY: ELIJAH MADUBUIHE
Imo State University Students seem to have taken the bull by the horn, defying the early school resumption order by refusing to resume for 2016/2017 second semester (rain) as observed by Mr. Elijah who lead campus reporter media team around school today.
DESERTED NATURE OF ETF BUILDING

It is worth noting that the management officially slated Tuesday 18th April the resumption date for 2016/2017 second semester (rain) but students one week and still counting after the official resumption date are yet to return back to the confine of the school.

Today, we visited the campus and I have never seen the front gate walkway, popular relaxation center (LOVE GARDEN), new and old education trust fund building, faculty of humanity block, new book shop building  free of people before, this is the true definition of desertedness.
Many students in IMSU are complaining that the semester break was very short, and that after using a very long period of time in the school and away from their family and friends for the first time, they were given short break
.

On behalf of opinion molders in IMSU, student union government IMSU, I am using this golden opportunity to urge the students (Imo stars) to resume as soon as possible, because as history has it, Imo State University, this second semester(rain)  will be  filled with different kinds of activities including 8th convocation ceremony, award/fresher’s night, Audition and lots of other extra-curricular activities which tends to sway students away from their studies which is sacrosanct and paramount in Imo State University Owerri.
What do you think?  Let's get back to school.

Thanks and God bless you.

The wickedness of cultism in IMSU and the sudden demise of Angel O’Brien

ANNOTATED BY: ELIJAH MADUBUIHE

The killing of angel O’Brien is undoubtedly one of the several cult related killings in Imo State University, the evil cultism has contributed generally in Imo State University in recent times is enough to call a referendum on shutting down the campus for life but no one would agree with me because even secondary schools are now at the forefront of cult activities.

It is really disheartening, pathetic and indescribably disgusting how dilapidating the situation has rendered our beloved citadel.

This is one year after the sudden death of Mr. Angel O'Brien, a final year Law student of the Imo State University, Owerri, who was processing his clearance papers as he was due to leave the institution. It was an attack suspected to be related to cultism as he was shot dead inside the dry drainage that is located along IMSU extension Gate, twelve months ago.

As a student journalist in IMSU, I personally took a trip to his Facebook page after the break of the sad news and from all l could gather, he was a cool and loveable student but he still wasn't safe.

He wasn't safe because we have continually seen, heard and read of incidents where cultists are picked and shot dead just when they are about to leave the confines of IMSU as graduates but the case of O'Brien could be either of two scenarios - he was a cultist and had been a target or he offended some people and they wanted to serve revenge when it will taste sweeter. Yet, no amount of revenge is justifiable when it has to do with taking life that you cannot give.

During the recently concluded orientation programme (2016/2017) in school, I personally observed that the institution took the pain to hammer on the ills of cultism and its danger to student’s life in Imo state university but many students will still turn deaf ears to the instruction.

It is not possible to be at peace with all men all the time but it is possible not to step on people's toes. Try to be friendly as much as you can.

It is possible to avoid cultism, people have. We should never forget that cultism kills just as it has taken Angel and so many others. Please let’s avoid it like a plague and let’s unite as Imo stars to pledge peace in the main campus and various student alliance of Imo state university owerri.

NYSC member makes shameful Facebook post

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a scheme for graduates from
various Nigerian tertiary institutions, as such one would expect the
NYSC to be made up of properly educated young men and women.

However, it is sad to note that this is not always the case. There
have been reports of cases where members of the corps behaved in
manner that could be termed disgraceful. While this is not always the
case, a recent Facebook post shows that it still happens.

Nyesom Wike Killed Many Innocent People to Become Governor of Rivers State - NIMASA Boss

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has been accused of soiling his hands with blood by wasting innocent lives just to emerge as the Governor of the state.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State

Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dakuku Peterside, has alleged that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike wasted many innocent lives so that he could emerge as the Governor of Rivers state.

He made the allegation while addressing newsmen at the port Harcourt International Airport, on Saturday. According to him, the State under the leadership of Wike has the record of the most “state-linked killings” in history.

“While Wike can never come near the record of Amaechi, the current governor is doing everything to reverse the unmatchable records of his predecessor.

“As at today, no one has seen copies of 2016 and 2017 budgets of Rivers State. Schools and health centres are shutting down with thousands of school age children out of school.

“Rivers children on scholarship abroad have been withdrawn. The same governor has wasted Rivers money to host two failed conventions of a sinking PDP. His party chairman has accused him of using $6m to influence judicial officers.

“Wike has the unenviable record of governing a state having the most state-linked killings in Rivers history. He rose to become the governor of Rivers State on the bloods of innocent people.

“It is people like Wike who have made Nigerians to call to question the issue of immunity in the Constitution. He is taking immunity as shield to abuse the dignity of the office of Governor.

“The governor can still retrace his steps and follow the path of dignity, decorum and respect the office he occupies for he holds it in trust on behalf of Rivers people.” Peterside alleged.
