Bokoharam to get amnesty if they surrender

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state, has promised that his new administration will grant amnesty to members of the Boko Haram sect, who are ready to de-radicalise.

Making this known at his inauguration ceremony for another term in office on Friday, May 29, the governor said it had become imperative that willing members of the Boko Haram sect ready to surrender be given amnesty.

According to Premium Times, Shettima said those who want to come out of the bush must be given the opportunity to be de-radicalised and rehabilitated so as to discontinue the endless destruction of lives and property in state.

He lamented that the Goodluck Jonathan administration did too little to counter the Boko Haram threats because of a misplaced notion that the terrorist group was a creation of the political and other elites in the North to ruin his administration.

“They therefore (Jonathan) did only the barest and most perfunctory, to stem the problem. Meanwhile, our people suffered and our communities were systematically laid to waste,” he said.

He regretted that many Borno residents were squatting at various camps of internally displaced persons at the time he was being sworn-in.

The governor promised that his administration would make it a primary goal to rebuild several destroyed communities in the state, adding that the new regime of Muhammadu Buhari afforded the people of the state an opportunity to air their problems before a listening president.

He explained that granting amnesty to a group of people who had engaged in destruction of lives and property was not an easy choice, he, however, emphasised that it was necessary for lasting peace to prevail.

He also appealed to the federal government of Nigeria and the international community to consider the option of amnesty for Boko Haram.

Boko Haram, which translates to‘western education is a sin’ has been waging a six years war against the federal government of Nigeria. Thousands of Nigerians have lost their lives due to the sects activities mostly in the Northeastern part of the country

They tortured me with hot water whilst raping me, heart touching tales of 17year old impregnated by ISIS commander

Yazidi teenager has told how she and her little sister were raped daily by depraved jihadists after they were sold into slavery at an auction of virgins - as she revealed she is now pregnant with the vile extremist's baby.

The girl, who is just 17, revealed how every day of her nine-month ordeal was 'like choosing between death and death' as she was faced with beatings and sexual assaults by the ISIS militant and his team of 'bodyguards'.

The teenager told how she was gang-raped, whipped and even scalded on the thigh with boiling hot
water if she didn't keep with her ISIS rapist's depraved sexual demands.

The girl recalled how she was forced to recite passages from the Koran while her 'owner', calling himself Al-Russiyah, and his 'bodyguards' molested her.

Now, three months pregnant with Al-Russiyah's baby, the girl says she gets flashbacks and nightmares about what he did to her.

'It was like choosing between death and death... It was terrible,' she said.
'He beat me and would be with at least one other man every time he had sex with me.'

The teenager was kidnapped last August, after ISIS fighters overran the town of Shingal, also known as Sinjar, in an onslaught which sent thousands of Yazidis who had been living on the Nineveh Plain running for the mountains to escape the extremists.

The teenager was handcuffed and held in a hotel by gun-toting ISIS fighters, with a number of other scantily dressed women and young girls in Mosul, Iraq. She was then moved to Islamic State's adopted capital of Raqqa, Syria, where she and dozens of other women and girls were underwent an intrusive examination to confirm that they were virgins.

'The virgins were taken to a room with 40 men,' she recalled.
'They lined us up and pointed who they wanted... I thought I might be lucky: I was not as beautiful as the others.'

The girl was bought by Al-Russiyah, originally from Chechnya, who purchased her, her 10-year-old sister and two other girls in 10 minutes.

But it was not only the prospect of what the horrors they would face once they were taken away from the auction house which left the girls distraught.

'The day me and my sister were sold was the last day I saw my mother. I will never forget when she started crying and pulling her hair when they took us,' she said.

Once at their new 'home', an abhorrent daily routine from which they could not escape began.
Each morning, Al-Russiyah would strip the girls naked, then smell them and decide who he wanted to have sex with that day, she said.

After the he had made his choice, his bodyguards would select one of the remaining girls for themselves.  But the bodyguards were so rough with her that the teenager felt relief at being picked by her captor, who would 'beat her less than the other men'.

It was hopeless to resist: on the one occasion she did, one of Al-Russiyah's men poured boiling water on her leg.

'They forced me to say things from the Koran during the time they did their actions, and if I didn't they whipped me,' she said. 'I didn't feel anything. I just felt numb. I wanted it to be over. I wanted to kill myself.

We were forced to cook, clean and do anything that they told us. We had to obey their orders. Sometimes we had to dance and sing for them.'

But then finally, after nine months of torture which no one should have to endure, a chance to escape arose.

DailyMail reports that in April, Al-Russiyah was killed, together with his bodyguards, by Peshmerga forces near Sinjar, northern Iraq - and the girls were finally able to flee.
She said:

'[Al-Russiyah] and his bodyguards were wounded when they fought against Kurdish soldiers. He died immediately and the guards also. That was when we fled.'

Some of the girls ran back to ISIS because they were so afraid. One girl who tried to escape had her legs cut off by the militants, it is claimed.

The girl says life is now difficult for her because the Yazidi community is very patriarchal - and those who have fled ISIS are considered 'tainted' - even though their highest cleric has urged families to accept them.

Her uncle has threatened to kill her if she had been sexually abused by Islamic State fighters, and she is now preparing to terminate her pregnancy.

Delal Sindy, a 23-year-old aid worker from Sweden, has helped tell the 17-year-old Yazidi girl's story. Ms Sindy, who has been in Kurdistan since October last year, is determined to stay and help in the face of ISIS getting stronger in the region.

'They are growing stronger in certain areas but here they are being pushed further away by the Kurdish military. And they really need help, this is why I am staying,' she said.

Funny things ladies do just to be sen as "Big girls"

The wavelength of ladies living fake life in order to be seen as "Big Girls" has hit elastic limit which is common to Nigerian babes and their counterparts across the globe.

Fake accent, Pirated wigs and other gibberish things are being exhibited by these categories of ladies in order to clinch the High and Mighty of the society like politicians, top business men, etc whereby they result to doing shameful things which are;

1. Running After A dude Because He is Rich

Due to their level of desperation, they chase rich dudes like football by dressing half unclad to his house, office and other private places. Their intention is to stylishly "magad" the rich dude to get them cars and etcetera to do show off among their friends.

2. Skin Bleaching and Excessive Make-up

Categories of such ladies don't like the word "Black is Beautiful". Perhaps they inherit such vague intellect from Michael jackson who turn himself to "Oyinbo Agric Fowl". Hitherto as a result of their belief men go for yellow pawpaw, they bleach their entire body and put up excessive make up like scarecrow. "Nah them u go see for daylight like Beyounce but early morning, dem be like oshiomole"

3. Photo Shop Their Pictures With Top Celebrities

"Idle mind na devil workshop true true". Celebrities work their way to the top through hard work. Some ladies however use their money to hire professional graphic designer in order to combine their pictures with super stars. Yeye dey smell.

4. Purchase Second Hand Wears and Claim It was bought new @ overseas

I have seen ladies going to uncle chinedu enterprise to bend down and select clean tobunko clothes, underwears, shoes, etc which is common at yaba, oshodi, aba and broadstreet markets. Furthermore, they do some finishing touches to the wears and boast like peacock among their friends they went for shopping @ dubai, Paris and other exotic places in the world.

5. They Rent Expensive gadgets and Borrow accessories to impress

You see them rent expensive cars like range rover sport and borrow valuable accessories from their friends in order to be seen as Jennifer a.k.a biz galz

6. They Wear Very Skimpy and Over-tight Outfits

I don't know how some ladies do it in such a way that they use bra to pump their cleavage as if a vulcanizer did the job. Anyway, these category of ladies are seen wearing very short, revealing and tight outfits to pass a message across guys I don't do broke dude. "How person daughter go dey wear pant and bra for daylight. No be madness dey come so"?

7. They Wear Clothes With Different Colour Combination

Person no go hear word if them hit jackpot as the latest big girl in town. What else do u expect from a confused lady wearing colour riot outfit like Calabar masquerade. Miss match colour outfits is a show of shame and a big mess.

8. Moving with Popular Colleagues

Perhaps they possess little attributes of Awon biz gals, they display "me too belong attitude" by moving with friends who live expensive and fake life.

9. Updating DP and Personal Messages Like Antivirus Software

They change their display pictures on BBM, forum, etc like menstrual pads and update their personal message(PM) like antivirus software.

For example:

Sunday: Chilling @ Eleguishi Beach

Tuesday: Hanging out with friends @ sheraton

Wednesday: Preparing for AY show on Friday.

So on and So forth. Who cares to know? Mtcheww!

10. Cat walking like Naomi Campbell

Ladies with their funny act. If you can't do naomi Campbell cat walking, why wearing a 9 inches heel shoes. All in the name of big girl syndrome, she make silly noise with their "ko ka ko ka" aba heel shoe like bell gong.

True or nay ?

Friday, Mr. Jonathan would begin his journey back home from the seat of power in Abuja.
At the Government House Helipad in Yenagoa, Mr. Jonathan would be received by Seriake Dickson, the Bayelsa State governor, and other top government officials, according to Dan Kikile, the state’s Commissioner for Information.

The former president, as he would then be known, would be hosted to a civic reception at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, before proceeding to his hometown in Otuoke where he would be received by chiefs and his kinsmen.
“The state government wants to use the occasion to showcase the affection of Bayelsa people to Jonathan and thank God for successfully completing his tenure in office,” Mr. Kikile said.
At the Dame Patience Jonathan Square in Otuoke, a gathering centre for the community, rows of plastic seats arranged in a U-shape overlooks an open field that measures 35 by 25 feet.
A handful of young men, in paint-smeared overalls, add fresh coats of paint on rails and beams while the women sweep the dusty floors.
Outside the square, some youth unload giant loudspeakers and other musical equipment from a delivery truck.

Am not coming for wike's inauguration - Amaechi

The Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has said that he will not be present at the swearing-in of his successor, Chief Nyesom Wike.

There had been speculations that Amaechi may not be present at Wike’s inauguration as a result of the controversy surrounding the presidential and governorship elections in the state.

But Amaechi, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. David Iyofor, explained that he would rather be at the swearing-in of the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, in Abuja.

“Governor Amaechi at the inauguration ceremony of Wike? He (Amaechi) plans to attend the swearing-in of the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari,” a text message sent to our correspondent by Iyofor read.

Do you think wike will last after 29?

Spain opens Terrorism case against Bokoharam

A Spanish High Court judge said Thursday he has agreed to hear a lawsuit against Nigerian Islamist militant group Boko Haram and its leader Abubakar Shekau for crimes against humanity and terrorism.
Judge Fernando Andreu ruled he was competent to handle the case under the principle of universal jurisdiction — which allows courts to try certain atrocities committed in other countries — because the case concerns a Spanish nun who is a victim of the group.

Spanish public prosecutors accused Boko Haram in its lawsuit of “harassing” and “putting pressure” on the nun in March 2013 in Nigeria as part of “a generalised context of actions of a terrorist nature by the jihadist organisation”.
Boko Haram has killed thousands of people in Nigeria during a six-year insurgency to carve out an Islamic caliphate. It has also staged cross-border attacks in Chad, Cameroon and Niger.

Jonathan finally presents Hand over note (pictures)

President GEJ presents President Elect with the handover notes and the report of the National CONFAB!

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday formally presented his hand over notes to the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari.

The presentation was done inside the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, shortly after Jonathan conducted Buhari round the seat of power.

Vice President Namadi Sambo had also similarly conducted the Vice President-elect, Yemi Osinbajo, round his wing of the villa.

Jonathan presented an executive summary of his hand over notes and a copy of the report of the National Conference to Buhari in the presence of All Progressives Congress chiefs who accompanied him to the event.

In his remarks, Jonathan said his administration had done its best for the country.

Buhari said he would not make a bold statement until after studying the handover notes.

He however commended Jonathan for conceding defeat in the March 28 Presidential election.

He said the outgoing President could have made things difficult if he wanted to do so.

Amaechi promises to forgive Wike but only on some conditions

The war between Riverside State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi and Governor-elect, Chief Nyesom Wike, is far from over.
Ahead of the Friday’s inauguration, Amaechi declared that he would not forgive or settle the feud between him and Wike until justice is done.
The governor made this declaration during his 50th birthday thanksgiving service at the Corpus Christi Cathedral in Port Harcourt, while reacting to the plea by the Catholic Bishop of Port Harcourt Diocese, Most Rev.
Dr. Camillus Etokudoh, that both politicians (Amaechi and Wike) should reconcile their differences in the interest of the people.

He said, “My Lordship talked about
forgiveness. In the Catholic Church you don’t oppose the views of your bishop. His words represent an order. If you oppose him you may be barred from taking Holy Communion.

“You are not a true Catholic if you don’t receive the Holy Communion. But Your Lordship, the same Catholic doctrine also states that justice comes before forgiveness.
“All those that were killed during the last general elections must get justice. Their families must get justice. Our party, the AllvProgressives Congress, must get justice first at the petition election tribunal. Our mandate must be retrieved at the tribunal.
“I am surprised that My Lordship
congratulated Nyesom Wike here today. I am using this opportunity to call on the Church to join the APC in praying to God so that we can reclaim our mandate.
“Reclaiming our mandate at the election petition tribunal will represent a measure of justice. We must seek justice before
reconciliation,” the governor stressed.
“I was shocked by some of the people that betrayed me. At the appropriate time, God will forgive them. Let me use this
opportunity to thank members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for their support all through the crisis. I did not give them money to stand by me. I commend them for their sacrifice,” he said.

He explained that the Resident ElectoralvCommissioner in the state, Mrs. Gesila Khan, had not given the APC the voter register, which the Independent National Electoral Commission used in conducting the last general elections in the state.

Earlier, the Catholic Bishop, Etokudoh, had congratulated Wike for his electoral victory and urged him and Amaechi to settle their differences.

BEFORE WE FORGET!! heart touching pictorial remembrance of 2015 elections true heroes (BEFORE MAY 29)

Before you start eulogising the regular looters tomorrow let's go down the lane to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice. In the course of our most desired democracy

The elections might have come and gone but scars of the unfortunate incidents it brought still lingers.

Below are the ones who paid different prices for our desired democracy during the heat of the election.

An accident that involved men of the force when they were o their way to monitor eleelection one of the western States

An ugly scenario ensued in rivers and left many dead

Lifeless body of imo state PDP youth leader who was allegedly killed by unknown Gunmen on his way home after receiving youth mobilization money from a politician on the eve of the election.

A police man shot dead on duty in edo during the election he was on duty for a country that might not remember him
Rivers state was one of the worst hit of electoral violence
Shot dead in Rivers few months to election
From rivers a party member of the APC that sustained injuries.
Damaged bus during the presidential election in Rivers

INEC  Official shot dead during Gubernatorial elections in Edo ( He died young, for the country he loves)

Another scenario that played out in Rivers

He came out to serve his country but
Met his untimely death (if he had decided to stay back in his house you would have called him an unpatriotic one)

People running for there lives when political thugs attacked a polling booth in Akwa ibom(what if they had decided to stay back in the comfort of their homes , would you call them unpatriotic ones?)
There are many more that might have happened in your area.

A friend once told me this country is not worth being patriotic for. But I haven't lost hope yet if not for anything what Jonathan averted by accepting defeat in the last elections . Take a look at what is happening in Burundi and you will appreciate Mr. President.

So as we go down in our numbers to establish yet another train of Democratic flow let's not forget those that paid the ultimate price (death) in the course of standing on their right.
Don't eulogise only the living and the looters remember the ordinary ones that also contributed to the course of our democracy.

Please don't call them UNLUCKY ones they are HEROES that didn't leave to see the fruit of their struggles.

Send in your election experiences let's analyze before the start of the journey.
We all have stories we want the world to hear.
